Information you give us

• Your name and profile photo
• Your residential address (used to assign you to the correct Hub)
• Your email address (used for magic link sign-in and notifications)
• Posts, replies, reactions and direct messages you send through the Platform

Information we collect automatically

• Device type, browser type and IP address
• Pages visited and features used within OurStreet
• Push notification preferences

What we do NOT collect

• Passwords — OurStreet uses magic links and passkeys only.
• Payment or credit card information — OurStreet does not currently process payments.
• Sensitive information as defined under the Privacy Act unless you voluntarily share it in a post.

We collect and use your personal information to create and manage your account, assign you to the correct Hub, send sign-in links and notifications, display your profile to verified neighbours, operate the AI Community Manager, improve the Platform, and comply with legal obligations.

We do not use your personal information for advertising. OurStreet is ad-free and we do not sell your data to third parties.

• Residents (tenants and owner-occupiers) have full Hub access. Their name and profile are visible to verified neighbours on their street.
• Owners (landlords) who claim a property without residing there have limited access and do not have access to resident posts or messages.
• If a tenant claims the same property as an owner, the tenant’s claim takes precedence.

Your Hub includes an AI Community Manager that generates posts such as bin day reminders and local planning alerts.

• The AI does not read your private direct messages.
• It does not use your personal information to generate content about you individually.
• AI-generated posts are clearly identified as coming from the AI Community Manager, not a resident.

We do not sell your personal information. We may share it with other verified residents in your Hub, our technology providers (Supabase and Vercel), and law enforcement where required by Australian law.

Your data is stored on Supabase infrastructure hosted in AWS ap-southeast-2 (Sydney region) with row-level security. If we become aware of a data breach likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the OAIC under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your profile and posts will be removed from the Platform.

Under the Australian Privacy Principles you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information, and to complain if you believe we have handled it incorrectly.

OurStreet uses cookies to keep you signed in and to understand how the Platform is used. We do not use cookies for advertising.

OurStreet is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes we will notify you via the Platform or email.
